Bridge collapse in Minneapolis
I am just like everyone else in regards to this… “I have been on that bridge”. The sad part is that this could happen at any time to anyone of us. The world moves forward on a constant basis and we are constantly stretching the infrastructure we have put in place back in a time where we didn’t have the overburden of cars that we do now.
Unsafe products out of China
In today’s USA Today, there is an article that over 80% of the toys on our shelves are made in China, this was followed up by another article in regards to how the pollution from the China factories is in the ocean and the seafood we are getting off the Asian coast line. People, this is news to you? The thing that frustrates me is that over 10 years ago, USA Today (and other newspapers) were the one that were selling how amazing it was to send our manufacturing out of the country and how much money could be saved because there was no legislation. BTW, just as a note, ummmm the all mighty buck will win out over what is safe 95% of the time and the 5% of the time where someone will put a person’s safety over money? Well that is the corporation that goes bankrupt because their prices are too high. The sad part of what is continuing to go on in regards to the US’s thirst for cheap products is no lessons will be learned. The same situation is going on right now with the outsourcing of White Collar jobs to other countries. How do you expect to have people purchase things if no one is working? Sorry, this is a huge soap box item for me!
